As the gap between the Telecommunications sector and the Electronic security sector becomes more obscure it is essential that security technicians have an understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and the installation practices required to maintain data throughput.
This is essential when installing UTP and fibre Optic cable for CCTV over IP networks.
This short course from Integracom has been designed as a three evening training course specifically for security technicians wanting to gain essential knowledge and hands on practice in these areas without having to complete a full 6 day competency course.
The course includes
- Digital Transmission theory and how bad installation practices can render the network inoperable
- UTP installation practices, hands on practical and testing parameters
- Fibre Optic installation practices, Quick Crimp terminations and testing parameters

Fibre Types, MMOF, SMOF- Fibre Installation Practices

- Fibre to copper conversion
Evening 3 - Practicals
Terminate Category 5 and 6 components- Terminate Category 5 and 6 components
- Test copper links for verification
- Terminate Fibre Connectors using a Quick Crimp termination Kit
- Test Fibre links for operation
- Connect up Fibre Converters
