PRSTS 202A - Intruder Alarm Systems

Click to check course datesThis training course has been designed and developed to take a trainee Technician or Electrician through the technical requirements that are needed to install a modern electronic security system in a domestic or small commercial application.

The course content was developed to help the technician to understand the concept of electronic security through various stages.

The trainee will work on products from different manufacturers to gain a broad range of experience and proprietary knowledge on common commercial systems within the Australian security Industry.

One of the primary outcomes is to enable a technician to install and maintain a system that will carry out the functions for which it was designed to do with the minimum amount of disruption to either the customer or the security services resulting from false alarms or total malfunctions.

Course Delivery

Prerequisites  

There are no prerequisites to attend the course but a Restricted Registration is required to install  Security Cabling under the ACMA Cabling Provider Rules.

This course can also be undertaken at Integracom.

  4. Control Panel and Interconnecting Devices
  5. Design Principles
  6. Final commissioning
  7. Documentation and Handover to a customer
  8. Understanding ADSL and Mode 3 connections
  9. Follow on maintenance Programs including fault finding
  10. Understanding IP Networks

Course Cost

 

Certification

On successful completion of this course the student will be awarded a competency certificate based on the unit they have completed. It may be used to contribute to a Cert II in Technical Security.
